The overall ambition of the project is to cultivate a thriving transnational and European environment that fosters the exchange of best practices, pioneers innovative approaches and develops state-of-the-art tools for comprehensive training of migrants from third countries. This ambitious vision is anchored in the following objectives:
1. Transnational network for active participation: We envision creating a strong transnational network that extends across local, regional, national and European scales. This interconnected network will catalyse the growth and exchange of innovative practices that enable migrants to actively participate in European society, ultimately leading to informed citizenship.
2. Guiding the attainment of complex social and civic competences: The project aims to meticulously develop guidelines that illuminate pathways for different stakeholders engaged in supporting migrants. These guidelines will act as a compass, guiding individuals and groups towards the acquisition of complex social and civic competences. Sensitivity to linguistic, cultural and social nuances will be crucial, fostering their autonomy and integration as valued members of a democratic community.
3. Forging pathways to democratic enlightenment: we are dedicated to creating tailor-made pathways through the realm of democratic values, fundamental rights and the essence, values and history of the European Union. These pathways will act as beacons, illuminating the journey of migrants from third countries towards a deeper understanding of European citizenship. This education will enable them to deal with the complexities of democratic participation and contribution.
4. Foundation for future civic education: this project is not just a present effort; it lays the foundation for future efforts. We aspire to establish a solid foundation for future initiatives, including the creation of European civic education courses specifically designed for migrants. The operational model identified in the project's final report will serve as a template for these training offers.
In essence, the project aims to:
1. Weave a dynamic transnational network that promotes innovation, nurturing active engagement of Ukrainian migrants and migrants within European society, thus cultivating informed citizenship.
2. Develop comprehensive guidelines that channel support to migrants, facilitating the cultivation of complex social and civic competences taking into account their unique linguistic, cultural and social context.
3. Designing customised pathways that illuminate the democratic fabric, familiarising migrants with the values, rights and essence of the EU, enabling them to flourish as informed European citizens.
4. Laying the groundwork for future civic education initiatives, paving the way for tailor-made European courses for migrants, anchored in the operational model outlined in the project's final report.
